FDX deviation question for gurus
I deviate on a 2 leg 2 day international DH. Check the box to deviate first leg only. Arranged for first deviation leg flight. The system cancels the second leg as well even though I didn't check to deviate on it. I have GT repurchase the second leg for a fare which is now CHEAPER than the accepted fare - talk about lucky. Summary format shows I am deviating on first leg only. Question: can I use the difference as part of my DH bank this month between actual and accepted fares on the second leg for the tickets I had to repurchase thru GT even though I didn't hit the deviate box on that 2nd leg but had to go thru the trouble of re-buying them? If it was more to re-buy them, I would be forking over the difference, right? TIA.

Even though you didn't click deviate on the second leg, management will always deviate you for the entire segment (front end, mid or back end). Didn't you get a warning screen notifying you of that fact?
They say they can do it because the CBA doesn't say they can't.
Which leads me to believe they like it when we deviate. It makes it easier for scheduling if there is a problem and often saves the company money. If they preferred having us on the scheduled DH, keeping the second half of it would be an option.

I've done the half deviate numerous times and never run into trouble delay wise. Has anyone actually had problems while being on the second scheduled leg while in deviation status and what was the company's response?
