Irony
Isn't it ironic that Del Smith, who was such an outspoken advocate for smaller government, fed off of and made his millions almost entirely from government contracts? Don't cha think?
So sorry for you Evergreen employees for losing your jobs... Having been there 5 times in a 24 year "career", I truly feel your pain. And though it has happened at Christmas time, things will get better.
The best of luck to you all!

But at least they're not hypocrites about it like Del is. Much like those incumbent politicians who said that government never created any jobs!?!? Government created their job. Again, isn't it ironic... don'tcha think?

We all saw this a couple of years ago. I got lucky, got a call and moved on with my career.
There are lots of great people who lost their jobs because of this and have not received any calls.
That is the ironic part. Some get jobs while others wait. For a few years I wondered why my friends were able to land really great jobs; while my phone was silent.
My time came and for all of my "Zoners" who are waiting; your time will come as well my friends.

It is almost 1 year since Evergreen shut the doors. Most of the Zoners have moved on and found new jobs.
Once a Zoner, always a Zoner! I miss the good times in the 747 with you all. See you all out there on the road..................

I work for the company that bought a lot of Evergreen Eagle's (the ground handing company) stations and assets. A half dozen former EE employees did actually get their last paycheck in the last month, and a manager who picked up the tab on $5k+ worth of GSE fuel during the last days says that he's getting reimbursed, slowly. Better late than never, I suppose.
