FDX- It's about time!

& at the time we got LIDO & our EFBs, the Jeppesen electronic product was doo-doo (can I say that?) - basically scanned-in .pdfs of the actual paper pages? seriously. c'mon......
NOW.....Jeppesen's product is equal to (if not better than & getting better with each new revision/update) LIDO's, so we're switching back.
I've been happy with LIDO - looking forward to being even happier with the new electronic Jeppesens.

so, now......are we getting iPads or Windows Surface tablets to go with the new Jeppesens?
discuss.....

We also need to remember that no airline had a viable EFB when FedEx started down this road. They end up getting hammered for being ahead of the curve and on the "bleeding edge" of technology. It wasn't all for naught either. We are still going to be using the current EFB, just with Jepp software, and a tablet as backup. EFB will still be primary. The biggest winner will be the Airbus crews that don't have an EFB and will be able to use the tablet once it is painted purple and on the ramp.

I predict LIDO will be removed from the EFB and paper jepps put in the backup pubs bags. Jepp installation in the EFB will be goobered up by our crack IT department (same ones who came up with changing the login the day bids open last month). We'll be stuck with paper jepps for 3-6 months using the EFB as a clipboard.
Hopefully I'm wrong.
