Even if Helicopters sell - 98% money goes to creditors and rest for museum donation.

The airline (or the other companies) do not produce positive cash - they get shut down. There is no upside and huge downside.

Buy airplanes for what? Nothing left to do with them..

Took off my rose colored glassed - wish I could put them back on!

It's 2013 and time for predictions. I'm going optimistic. The sale of EHI will allow EIA to start growing again, adding 400s to the fleet. And it gives me a chance to use my favorite quote: "Tough times don't last, tough people do"
I'll miss the classics, but looking forward.

Name another airline that is adding -400's, or one doing so that's not shrinking and furloughing as they do it.

The -400 is an old mare, even though it may be new to EIA. Most any airline with the ability to re-fleet (ie, $) is choosing either the 748F or the 777F (or the passenger version for hauling people).

The 747BCF has a max capacity of 39 pallets and 113 metric tons of revenue cargo. The 777F carries 2 less pallets and 1 less metric ton of revenue cargo, while the 747-8F carries 7 more pallets and 26 more metric tons of cargo than the -400BCF. Both of course have more range, less MX costs, and burn less gas too.

I hope things turn around at Evergreen, or at least stabilize for a couple years so those still manning the ship have time to consider their options.

EIA is going to have to be competitive. With its current debt load, the struggling global economy, and stiff competition from those who had more market foresight, it will be a tough road.

I think if anyone has the ability to pull it off it would be Jim, but without revenue, the odds are not good. IMOHO of course.

The funds from the sale of helicopters likely has liens for past and current debt on it, it would be revealing to know how much back debt the company owes, no one has ever said. You also know that there will be some bonuses for the SUITS and nothing for the employees who have worked without pay raises in years.

EIA needs to get a grip on spending, there are some areas where cost can be cut and I will leave it at that.

If the sale isn't done by March 1. probably be looking at further furloughs. Does not appear that the new 400 is going to fly anytime soon, it was suppose to do UPS PEAK,it is still parked in the sand.

EIA should amend the contract with the Pilots.

There is no need for crew members to sit in biz or first class on company travel, what is wrong with jumpseating or sitting in economy in the cheapest seat the company can buy.

The company should set up three domiciles like HHN ANC and JFK. sorry pilots its time for you to pay for crashpads and accept deluxe lodging when traveling. Also with the shape the company is in why should they pay for you to go home after a trip, again that is what CASS is for.

I dont understand why Del lets the pilot group get buy with this. This is contributing to the killing of the company.

After all you are just pilots, not rock stars and if your sick outs are designed to break the company then why not just quit. I heard a sick call from a crew a couple weeks ago cost the company 15-20K to position a new crew in.....stupid destructive tactic.

Are you for real? Yeah, they should accept B1900 wages as well. Flying is flying right? And it's so much fun!

Yah sure, just like making the rich pay more taxes is going to end this countries fiscal crisis.

Making the pilots give away their home basing is not going to solve the problem.
