Default Fedex Icing Incident(s)

Rumor is that the little icing night in Memphis xmas night cost us a few fairly large aircraft parts. Anyone around that could verify/elaborate?

I heard replacement of an entire MD11 wing, and a nose gear.

Very first widebody of the night onto K pad had a right wing strike...unofficial, first hand, eye witness rumor told me so.

Yea, I heard about the wing, not the nose gear.

Saw them both..

First: busted hole in wing and had fuel spill. Saw this on bus going to gate.

Second: damaged slat. Saw it from gate and then they pulled it across from our gate to unload.

Didn't hear/see a third.

According to Maint bud, 1st was significant damage and 2nd wasn't that bad..

If you are on property, go to aircraft damage photos on the AOD link. Pretty awful damage on the leading edge and on second aircraft's flap hit. I heard the nose gear on tail number three was a side loading issue and the trunions had to be fixed but no pictures to confirm.

I keep asking myself why? It just doesn't seem so hard to taxi in, get shot and taxi out. There must be some systemic issue we need figure out as a group. This kind of damage just makes me sad.
