While I could be wrong, I have heard this statement means they are "checking" the issues we have on layovers (GT, Hotel, ramp issues etc) and not doing a LOSA of your actions while not on duty. I think we might have a little problem with that.

A standards guy on board is a standards guy on board. I wonder if they will be on any disputed pairings?

I didn't know that there were any MEM-ATL-MEM or MEM-DFW-MEM disputed pairings?

Holy Duplication of Effort Batman!

Why don't they just bump a crew and fly the trip themselves if that's the case? You know, get the full fatigue/ground issues/what it feels like experience.

Nice cover story but it doesn't hold water. My guess - monitoring crew performance is the real goal.

I'm sure they referenced ASAP/FOQA/PORs, as the FCIF stated, to find out which flight segments have been causing problems before building their monitoring schedule.

Maybe they should have asked the SIG for input on known problem segments. Unless they want to build a database on everything BUT problem segments.

Or they could actually read and respond to the Pilot Ops Reports...

They are NOT standards guys. That's why the FCIF said they are Company Check Airmen - not a Line Check Airman. That's why they should be "treated" like an ACM not a jumpseater....

Also, the second they talk on taxi-out, critical phase of flight , etc... or distract me from my job... They're going to the back. I'm sure the FAA would love to know that the FDX SS are violating FAR's while acting as "Company Check Airmen"....
