Default FDX training 7 days after bid closes

I have heard from 727 Flexes that we may be in training 7 days after the bid closed. Any idea what that would do to May vacation if that happened? Is that considered a cancellation of vacation? I can see a scenario where you used your vacation to knock out trips and then got training over top of that, did you waste your vacation? Anyone dealt with this? Seems like if you slid your vacation one way or the other it could be a good or bad deal but its a crap shoot cause you don't know when it will be.

Kind of crappy that they could cancel your vacation with 7 days notice due to training.

Seems like it would set up some weird scenarios:

One guy drops his whole month gets put into training and gets paid 0?

Another guy plusses up to 100 CH gets put into training and gets paid 100?
Is that right?

Viper, it happened to me. You lose your vacation but after you're activated you can park on top of anyone junior to you in your new seat and domicile.

Viper take a look at section 11.D regarding minimum notice for training. I think your May vacation is safe since the May bid closes today and you weren't notified 72 hours ago.

Section 24.D.4 refers to filling a vacant slot earlier than you were originally scheduled for, and shouldn't apply here.

Section 7 also has a lot of info on how ITU impacts on vacation can be mitigated.

Might be worth a call to contract enforcement. Hopefully the MEC will put out a primer on how to handle an excess bid once the bid is posted.

The FCIF states that some training for the 757 will begin as early as May....I don't believe they can force anyone into training in May as the monthly bid has already closed. If you volunteer to go in May, sure, but they can't force you. Keep that in mind!!
