Why not? Didn't we just give them a fresh supply of 757 Captains to man the 767?

No (I don't think). If I understand correctly, the 757 guys won't be able to fly the initial 767s because of the "round dial" issue.

Just a differences training from what I understand. I think the Feds are happy letting us be "qualed" on any 2 of 3. Glass 75 and either round dial or glass 76.
At other "Brand X" airlines.. the pilots of the 757/767 can legally fly a mixture of airplanes. Some "classic" 757's that have round dials and EFIS all the way to the 767-400s with complete glass cockpits that are similar to what FedEx will have with our advanced flight deck. All that is required is the differences training to learn the particulars of the jets we'll be flying. The magic of the common type rating. JP |
They would have to go to Seattle for that training though.

-Glass 757 & glass 767 ... ok -Glass 767 & round 767 ... ok -Glass 757 & round 767 ... not ok I thought that was the whole purpose behind the initial "SBA" bid. I've been wrong before, though. |

I thought it was explained somewhere that you can be checked out in any combination of two but not three.
