Hey man, we're gonna cut you up bad....BUT, you'll know about it in advance AND, we'll provide free bandages! We got that going for us....which is nice:D Everything that A. N. Onymous, says are good deals for the pilots, are either good deals for the company, WHOGAS for us, or both. Can't wait to hear how he spins the next one, re: vacation. If his last two missives are any indication, it'll probably be a real gut buster.

Fewer pilots on reserve,

What a bonus that will be should I want to drop an R day....maybe we could get some contract language indicating a drop or move will not be unreasonably denied....of course, seems like mgt thinks almost every request to change your reserve footprint is unreasonable....

Added bonus, no more fears of the same old, same old city purity lines....trips to your home city will be "shared" with the best fit pilot

No, No, No times infinity, forever. (Sometimes those 4th grade responses come in handy). I neither believe them nor trust them (Mgmt). This is so obviously an attempt to bypass our NC as well as our MEC and direct deal w/us. I agree w/previous posters, Mgmt is not happy with what they are hearing from our NC. Therefore I am very pleased w/the NC's work to date. I wrote my Rep and the MEC Chair encouraging them to not only keep the line, but also to turn up the heat. We (The Crewforce ) must force Mgmt (by not responding/engaging in direct contact) to look back to the NC. This is right and proper; for (Now pay attention here Mgmt)........MY NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE SPEAKS FOR ME!!!!!!! Infinity, Forever. ( might be a good time to 1. Take the scheduled Deadhead 2. Conflict all carryover 3. No Draft/Volunteer)

Guys,

Just for giggles can anyone pm me a way to send a message to your NC ? 30 years at FedEx, followed by 5 years of PBS at DAL gives me a perspective of the
terrible, and permanent consequences of PBS.

Thanks,
BG

Be great if you could come to a Hub turn meeting and do a Q and A session.

Notice that the PBS PiBS memos are not signed.

This makes mgmt look like a COWARD.

Some one or group needs to take credit? blame for this.

I've worked at companies that used PBS. It wasn't the end of the world, it was just the way it was.

I've also worked for Fedex for quite a while. I've seen our quality of lines become optimized. Even with our current situation, it is a far superior system than either of the two companies I've worked that used PBS. I am also in the camp that PBS (or PIBS as they call it) is a nonstarter.

One thing that I really like at Fedex is the opportunity to work as much or as little as you want. If you want to take a few months off, just drop your trips (would be great if this worked for reserves too, but they just won't let you "reasonably" drop an R day). Want to work more to make up a little of what you dropped? Fly an extra trip or two. I never had this capability with a PBS system. Not to mention using vacation to knock out a months flying. Of course this efficiency means less pilots.

I read the article and all I saw was how much more efficient it would be for the company. Use reserves more. They wouldn't even have to wait until the last Wednesday at 1700 to release secondary lines. Couldn't they do this a week several days earlier, without effecting any of the add/drop windows?

Anyway, after reading these blogs, it has been apparent to me that it's just a smokescreen. While they are throwing PBS in our faces, they are reaching around and trying to reduce their healthcare costs (and increase ours) and other hard earned contract areas such as scope. The company knows this is a nonstarter and will try to distract us by making it a high profile item.
