You do realize hundreds of thousands of property crimes occur daily? There is alot more to investigating a crime than simply going out and arresting someone. Just like I wouldn't want a cop telling a pilot how to do their job, I sure wouldn't want a pilot trying to tell a cop how to do theirs. So you calling the police officers unsat, is like a passenger calling your landings unsat. Doesn't mean a thing.

The Op did the leg work and the detective responded and made an arrest. That is how it works. A desk cop isn't tasked with investigations. Most agencies have patrol take the call, then forward the info. to Detectives. In this case, the person forwarding the info. about the stolen property was the Op. I think everyone would commend him, especially not taking matters into his own hands and meeting with the perp.

Let me guess, your a cop. Read all the posts related to this incident. The victim had to do most of the work for a hostile department. It is only due to the persistence of the victim that there is any happy ending. I standby my original assessment. UNSAT

Yes they do, but most foreign carriers won't let you use them . That's because of their strict carry-on size and weight limits (generally only one small item is allowed).

Heres whats scariest about this...

If this person with access to the secure area is willing to commit a felony for a couple hundred dollars, think of what they could be enticed to do for much more.

Many years ago, the (US based) legacy carrier I flew for installed "Super Bins." Oversized overhead bins (especially in International First Class) just for passenger convenience ...

And get this ... meals were cooked to order served on real "China"

That was before food and baggage became revenue streams. And the airlines are learning what government refuses to learn: New/more taxes don't always mean more money, but they do always modify behavior.

And the Pilots wore White hats and the FA's (Stewardesses) wore White Gloves and actually offered service to the Passenger.
