HEY! Where's my calendar?!?
"What's up with the ALPA Calendar this year? I am entitled to receive one, so where is it?!?!"
That's a paraphrase of posts/threads I've seen in years past. As I sit here admiring my 2007 Calendar (yeah, it's right here in my hand, that's where it is), I can't help but think that the folks that put many hours of hard work into preparing them won't get even a "Thank You" from more than a handful of those who reap the fruits of their labor. We're typically very quick to complain, but seem to lose our voices when there's something to brag about.
So, here's a big THANK YOU to Captain Susie Latvala for all the hard work. It's not something that we need, not something that we're entitled to, not something that we earned, but it certainly is something that makes our lives easier, and it's something that we should all appreciate. Thanks for keeping the project going long after it could have been dropped because it costs money.
Thanks also to the folks who contributed time and effort, and ideas, to make it better and better. In the enclosure Susie mentions several folks that helped. Captain Mike Bender and First Officer Steve Westover for the IFALPA Emergency Phone Numbers and Worldwide Tipping Guide. First Officer Rich Odbert for the Jumpseat Section. And, of course, Jeff Latvala for his patience and support while Susie put it all together for us.
Shake their hands, say "Thank You," buy 'em a drink, let them know we appreciate their contributions.
Susie, Mike, Steve, Rich, Jeff -
THANK YOU!

It's in a section all by itself. Look at page 2 which is titled 2007 Retirements (there's no page numbers but it's the one after the If Found Please Return to: ME page)

Since you apparently did not , I'll point out that the Contract Section is also missing, due to the fact that time prevented legal review of the new rules before publishing. It'll be back next year.
