Pakage, first off, it wasn't a a management crew, second, it wasn't a "hey nobody saw that so let's take off and not tell anyone", and third, be careful what you spout off about...you never know where you'll find yourself or what may happen to you! Most who find themselves in a situation like that NEVER thought it would happen to them.

I've always counted ATC as my CRM wingman...I don't see much help prior to and definitely after touchdown by the tower flower.

I'm glad everyone and all the equipment survived this event.

This will be an interesting after action read starting from the approach brief on in to touchdown.

DOH!
Just go to the FBO and follow the string on the wall map to where it comes out of the hole. Viola!!! That's where you are!
On a more serious note, I can remember as far back as a Continental 707 coming VERY close to landing at McConnell after mistaking it for the muni airport on the west side of town. Of course Jabara was just little Ken-Mar at that time. Seems a bit ironic that the two airports involved in this incident are both named for Korean war jet aces.

You're right, some of us do. I try to look at each one (incident) with open eyes. Be safe out there.

Slight derail, if I may....

I'm simply curious--nothing to do with this incident, but seeing the video, etc., piqued my curiosity:

Is the Dreamlifter a standard 747 type, or must the crew be specially certified? For an otherwise qualified & experience 747 guy, how does it fly?

No they don't.

Here's another. Landed at MacDill instead of Tampa.

I think everyone is misunderstanding Senior Skippers comment. I took it to mean that they land at the right airport, but sometimes they just happen to land on the taxiway instead.
