Although I haven't tried it in several years ... I used to be able to get cheap rooms at safe hotels (with good restaurants) during the off season, during the week in Tunica.

Sort of a long drive but sometimes worth it.

Go with the Peabody downtown or the Marriott.... I kid . Tunica and Southaven work the best.

Madison downtown, if you aren't worried about $$. Can't go wrong with the Peabody either. Not sure about budget-friendly places to stay...

If by chance you're a 75/76 guy, there are a few hotels near Hacks cross that are only 10 minutes away from the sim building.

Take a look at the hotels in south haven at goodman and I-55. FDX rate and a free ride. Fairfield inn is popular.

Try Priceline bidding for downtown hotels. 4 stars plus will yield Peabody or Westin. I got the Peabody for $120/nite a couple of weeks ago. A little more comfortable and entertaining than staying at Hacks Cross or an airport hotel.

By "entertaining" do you mean more chance of seeing gunshots?
