Default FDX- Small 767 Bid

Small 767 Bid out soon to keep the training pipeline full past Feb.

15 Capt & 8 FO slots

How senior will it go?

Will some A300/MD-11 guys jump ship early before the much larger "realigment" bid in the spring?

Possibility but I doubt it! My guess is some senior 757 folks will bid it leaving vacancies in the 757.

"Remember" - "Please bid what you want to fly"

Only 23 primary vacancies but I anticipate quite a few secondaries.

The awards will help determine the number for excess in March.

Of course no word on what those might be. Can't have transparency, that would be anarchy.

Does anyone know if the practice bids show just the primary movements or will it also show the secondary movements as well?

I don't remember seeing secondaries.

I don't understand why we don't use the back to door fill CA slots via excess bid before we do a vacancy bid. That's how we've done it before.

Probably because with excess bidding, it puts the Pilot where the Pilot want to go, not necessarily where the Company wants them to go.

With vacancy bidding, People bid to where the Company wants them.

There will probably not be too many secondaries (if any) with a small 767 Vacancy Bid.

Not sure that makes sense. The Company gets the seats filled either way. We give up control of the process with an excess as long as -1 is available to the company.

On the last excess, Hundreds of pilots were forced out of seats they wanted to keep.

A Vacancy Bid allows those that want the new seats to bid them without negatively impacting others.

I'll take a vacancy bid over an excess any day.

I forgot the sarcasm icon.

I was referring to the universally derided 727 SO excess bid that set up the bump and flush.

We should never forget that the "new" flight ops values are to be internalized by line crew members only. All others are exempt.

Small bid officially out via FCIF. Looks like FedEx failed to include the fleet plan with this posting. That would be kind of nice considering how many delivery change rumors we've heard.

15 767 Captains and 8 767 F/Os.

They want to know if 757 guys will hold these slots before the excess.
