Heard that Amerijet is planning to open a freight operation at Rickenbacker using 727's, 767's and also ground shipping. I know some of their 767's are from CAM, and they are supposed to get more of ATI's 767's.
Also poses the question, if Amerijet is able to put 767's to work and are leasing more, why can't ATI do the same. It's like they aren't even trying.
727 scheduled freight airlines (supplementals) definitely have a life to them. (Kitty Hawk, Capital Cargo, Ryan, Express One, Custom Air, Astar, etc) Hope they can make it work in Rickenbacker.

Amerijet should move to ILN. They have all the infrastructure just sitting there waiting to go.

I think ATSG wants to solve the surplus airplane problem by leasing out what they can.
At the same time, they have to problem of operating two separate airlines working the same markets out of the same building. Add to that the fact that both airlines have hefty recall lists for the time being.
I think the plan is to dismantle ATI by whittling them down to the point that there is nothing left. Eventually, a couple planes will go to ABX. Probably some king of wildcard for the combis.
The real goal is to make it to early 2016 when they will divest themselves of the ABX furlough/recall list.
My guess is that ATI will not be in business much longer. The bosses will continue to pretend they are trying to make it work so that the workers will keep trying until they are no longer needed. I don't see any reason for ATSG to merge ATI with ABX.

Based on past experience, I do not expect the Union to take any action or expend any negotiating capital to help their furloughed brothers.

Well I don't know much about the current ATI MEC. but the prior CCI MEC Chairman (CH) is a snake in the grass. The 727 guys lost their jobs (furloughed way out of seniority order) and CH was awarded a mgmt position. For everyones sake, I hope the current ATI MEC is better than the old.

ALPA promises the world but nobody ever gets all that they want. Got a little pay raise, fixed a few QOL issues but in my opinion unions are a necessary evil and some of the people running the MEC's can be just as corrupt as airline mgmt. Lots of people looking out for #1 in this industry.

316 and 312 are both in records check for removal from our Ops Spec. 316 is in C-check, but I don't think 312 is, at least not right now. 319 is probably the next to go. That'll leave 761CX as our only ETOPS-capable 76. At least she's got a proper paint job. Joy...
