Default FedEx calendar question

Just curious - does anyone know what it means when there is a red status bar on one's calendar with MED on it?

It means you have your medical expiration coming up and its a reminder to get your FAA medical before the cut off so they won't make you NOQ.

It means you have until that date to turn in your doctor's note.

Actually, it means the pilot is medically disqualified for one reason or another but is not officially on SCK leave and is not NOQ yet.

This could happen when a pilot has no SCK or DSA time available but still must be removed from trips due to (possibly temporary) medical disqualification. The pilot may or may not be on STD or LTD at that moment, but would not have been out long enough to be non-current for landings or missed training events.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it...

Red bar with MED shows when you will be within 48 hours of the end of the month when your medical is due. For example, if you're due to have your medical updated by end of March, you'll see a red MED bar starting March 30th (the 30th and 31st being 48 hours prior to your drop dead date of end of month).

Remember, you will be dropped from trips if you haven't entered your medical by 0900 LBT the day prior to a trip that extends past the end of the medical due date, or a trip that ends within 48 hours of the medical due date. You should also receive multiple VIPS notifications in your due month explaining this.

I have also heard that you can't put in makeup for a trip in the MED bar until you clear it by entering your medical information. But, I would like one of the gurus here to confirm that to be true or not?

Since you asked at the beginning of the month, I can assume it's not because your medical is about to expire, but rather that it did at the end of last month. Not exactly the same as the code on the calendar, but related, is the Trip Add/Removal code you might see.

pilot.fedex.com

TOOLS > GENERAL INFO > TRIP ADD/REMOVAL CODES
(https://pilot.fedex.com/m/general-info/trip-codes.shtml)

UNASSIGN CODES

MED -

Description: Medical

Definition: Removed due to loss of current medical certificate or not having it in possession. CHs are not paid.

MED shows up in your calendar at the very end of the month your medical expires and then has a continuos red line forever in the future, just like sick, until you enter your medical info. Recently had this happen. You also get a daily crew notification in your due month reminding you to get er done until you do it.

Can anybody answer the question about completing adds, trades, or makeup that touches that MED Line____??

Open Time out now and I may want to add a trip at the end of the bid month, but this red line covers the last 3 days of the bid month. My Flt Physical is on the 19th.
