Some good news...
IPA Furlough Update
Hello, this is a special IPA Executive Board update for Monday, March 3rd.
UPS has informed the IPA that the Company intends to recall 18 more of our furloughed crewmembers in April. Training for these 18 recalled crewmembers is scheduled to begin on April 20, 2014.
To each of these 18 members, we say, “welcome home.” The IPA welcomes this news, and the eventual return of each and every one of our IPA brothers and sisters.
Prior to this announcement a total of 28 furloughed crewmembers had yet to be offered a recall notice. With today’s announcement, 18 positions will be offered in seniority order to eligible bypassing pilots and remaining furloughees.
Will the recall process continue beyond April? The Company has not yet informed the IPA of further plans beyond today’s announcement.
As for the IPA, our efforts to facilitate recalls will remain unfinished until every furloughed IPA member is offered the opportunity to return to work. We will not suspend our efforts until every member is offered a recall notice.
Today is a day to celebrate good news. We extend a warm “welcome back” to each of these returning crewmembers.
Thank you.

Also keep in mind that UPS does not think of it as recalling. These guys are not on the payroll and UPS sees them as an expense. As far as UPS is concerned they have hired 36 pilots in a 30 day period. That's unprecedented in this century.
What does that mean? Who knows. Many think it means that UPS expects the cargo cutout to end. Reports are that they'd be forced to add 120 pilots.
