The beauty of the FedEx jumpseat for off-line guys is that once you've booked a jumpseat, you cannot be bumped by a FedEx pilot. You can however, still be bumped by an FAA guy; an employee on emergency travel; an operational emergency (called by FedEx to allow for longer duty days, in response to weather, etc); or a check airman giving a line check (obviously cockpit j/s only). So, usually if you get booked with us, you'll get to where you're going.
Good luck and Merry Christmas

ahh, oh how I miss the jumpseat for non-pilot employees on personal travel. I wonder if UPS allows their non-pilot employees to jump like this? I only got to do it once, but it was awesome, good crew, good flight, very free, very cool, even sat next to an ACP, and he was cool, talking about flying with me almost all the way there. Most pilots I have talked with about this said they were fine with us jumping in the back. I hope that it indeed comes back one day.

The A310 has 4
If the flight is booked as full, I suggest listing as a standby. Most Captains will suggest that a FedEx pilot sit in one on the cockpit jumpseats, allowing an off-line pilot to ride in the rear.

For the seats in the back, does FDX allow any pilots or other (licensed airmen) employees from other CASS airlines to ride in the back, but not the cockpit?
I work in HPN for Atlas, but live here in MEM. I wonder if I'm able to ride in the back of FDX on friday nights to MEM. I know we are CASS, but I dont know if that includes other cockpit qualified employees like myself.
I remember that FDX had real heartburn with any riders after 9/11. I wonder how it all panned out.
