It is just a horrible design. I can't believe anyone at our company would look at it in the current config and say that looks like a good idea. What about rest facilities if they take that thing across the pond? The commuters are going to miss the bus for sure.

It'll have the same rest facility as the DC10. Three guys are required not a "facility." I don't think the futon on the MD is a "facility." Now if it goes over 12hrs you have a point. Besides EWR-CGN doesn't require three pilots and neither does IND-CDG in the winter...... just saying 😳

At 5Y, we got ours that way because "that's how UPS flies it." It still sucks. The lav in the cockpit is really a non-issue, except that you have to wake up the guy sprawled across the jumpseats to get to it.

Agreed. It's actually far better than a lav right next to the FA jumpseats. Or a galley!
