Sounds like your beggining to understand the CO.

Actually FedEx will do exactly the same thing, and have, a number of times in the past. Again, although it seems like a lot of money, removing a perfectly good pilot from the cockpit, so that he can learn a new jet, for about 3 months, while paying someone else to do the work that he/she was doing, it's really a drop in the bucket. Although slightly different from your comments, when the notorious Bill Sav@#$@ bid (I think it was the) Mad Dog, just screwing around with the bidding system, low and behold, he was awarded it. He went to management and told them he was only kidding. They said "tough, you'll go to school and like it." He told them he'd bid back to his original jet ASAP, to which they said "that's fine, but you will go to training." Which he did, and then immediately bid off and back to his original jet. I don't believe he ever turned a wheel in the Mad Dog, for the purposes of moving freight. The company just didn't care.

This is actually very interesting. There are people in this board who are angry because I say the job is great and I'm thankful for it. Been here 9 years now. I've flown the 747 international and the domestic side. I know the operation.

I'm telling anyone who reads this that you should value the opinions here carefully. Don't buy artificial paradigms. Jetjok, Shaggy, me. It doesn't matter. Look for the facts.

One of the biggest naysayers on here comes from a millionaire family and was educated at the best university in America. Now he's flying boxes!! When I was told that it all started making sense to me. He's disappointed with his lot in life and needs to blame someone so he blames UPS...or the IPA.... or me. I grew up lower middle class, slugged it through the USAF, and hit the jackpot with UPS. It's all perspective.

Maybe I'll take a break too.

Jaybird,

I took the assessment on Friday. Saw the page that said that they recommend that I passed, but have not heard anything else. I have only seen one person on here claiming an interview.

Sorry, don't have any details. According to our internal message board, people were doing interviews today.
