If you are MEM based, can you use excess deviation bank money to travel to or from a training event? If so, where does it say that in the CBA?
Thx, Lefty
Edit...is it 8.5.C.B? Is that all I need?

Yes you can use deviation money to travel for any FDX event you get paid for. Section 8.C.3

However, I have no reference regarding mere training events.

8.C.3.a. Air Travel
i. In the following circumstances, air travel expenses are allowable/reimbursable:
(a) to or from a pilot’s base to position to/from a scheduled assignment.
(b) deviation from scheduled deadhead travel.
(c) deviation from scheduled deadhead travel between a pilot’s base and training conducted away from his base.

Agreed--the timing is specific, but the purpose or reason for travel is unspecified. Go see Aunt Sally! Go see the new 9-11 Memorial Museum! Go see the Braves! Go see the World Cup in Brazil!

All correct but just realize that if you are domiciled in MEM and use bank to fly....
From X to MEM to start a trip or training
Or from MEM to X at the end of a trip or training
Then you must check the little box on your expense report and the ticket cost is considered imputed income and therefore taxable
