Excellent Intel from the Jolly Man !!! We all three finished Delta in the past two weeks. The first jet will be picked up in a few days and off to Mod. If I were a betting man.....I would bet big that the bid will contain just what you are hearing (i.e. the 757, duh?) .....but what do I know?

The head of 757 standards was announced back in late Nov. He has not gone to training yet. The current head of training was also announced, he hasnt gone yet, his replacement has. The senior instructor, whomever that will be, when he/she is chosen, has also obviously not gone. One of the two tech pilots has completed re-qual and is back in the office in Memphis. The remaining tech pilot and several others will train this month. Look for a 757 article in one of FedEx's magazines soon, lots of "whats going on" will be discussed in the article. Lots of neat gee wiz stuff trying to be stuffed in the cockpit but we will have to see if the $$$ are in line with the wish list. Nothing really secret, but no one has asked any questions to the 757 people. As far as where the airplane is going??? thats way way way way above my pay grade, but so is most of the info.

There isn't a South American SIBA base or European Base for that matter...........More accurately......There are no SIBA bases. SIBA (Special Intl Bid Award)is a BID for Intl flying. Everyone on holding a SIBA bid is based in MEM......thus all SIBA trips begin/end in MEM.
