A NWA/DAL merger might just pass the DOJ screen. I think I see what you mean about reduction of service. With passenger loads this high I wonder if a reduction in service will actually happen. The planes are full.

GSO will be a hub but I doubt it will be a Crew Domicile. EWR, IND and OAK are all BIG sort facilities......no domiciles there. Actually OAK and EWR were domiciles that were closed because they (MGT) felt they could better control us radicals out of MEM instead of out in the field. I am still puzzled why they opened up LAX. It doesn't make sense to have LAX as a crew base when 70% of the trips DH to/from OAK. OAK and EWR both make sense, but MGT will never admit they were wrong to close them, even if it would save the company money. Go Figure. Short answer, I wouldn't buy a house in The Piedmont-Triad Area unless you want to commute.

When I was stationed at Mayberry RFD (SJAFB) the commute from RDU was pretty easy. Two big buses per day and only about 40 guys on the staging list. The only problem was parking in their terribly small lot. Has it gotten crowded there?

Move up here to SDF! We are so far behind in buying lift and hiring pilots, I suspect Purple will just have to open a large base up here just to cover our shortfall.
