Default UPS/FedEx cover letters

Happy New Year everyone,

I'll be attending the Air Inc. seminar later this month. I'm in the process of preparing coverletter/resumes. Does anyone know who the most appropriate person to address the coverletters to? (and the address itself) The Air Inc web site has conflicting/dated info on it and doesn't seem too reliable.

Many thanks,
Wingnut

hello wingnut.
I attended an air-inc. job fair and received interviews because of that. I had a resume that didnot include an objective: "A career job with UPS/FEDEX/CAL." I skipped that part and started with flight time then experience. My opinion (and only my opinion) is to design one resume for all airlines.
Glad to hear you're gonna attend, good idea and good luck.

Thumbs up

To Whom it May Concern;

Dear Recruiter;

Don't mention any names as the person who will be reviewing it might be a different person than you addressed the cover letter to.

AirInc is OK Women-in-Aviation is much better, I got a call 2 months after attending one (I'm a guy). Several AirInc seminars didn't help me at all. Next one is in February in Orlando.

oooh...this website lists "to whom it may concern" as a "dont" for coverletters

I agree with you though. You dont really know who or how many people will review your resume...even worse if the person you address it to is gone by the time it gets reviewed then you really look silly....

Bring your resume not your coverletter. If you are mailing your resume then submit your coverletter to introduce yourself. You will act the part of the coverletter on the day of the fair. I have been successful getting interviews twice through Air Inc. Good luck.

Then I guess find out who'll be doing your interview and bring 4 different cover letters with 4 different names on it! Personally I think a "neutral" cover letter is better than having a name on it that the other person might not be very fond of, but that's just me...

Using "Dear Pilot Recruiter" on cover letters is fine when going to a job fair where you might not know who you'll talk to.

I wouldn't waste too much time on cover letters. Most airline apps are online ONLY, so there's no need for an address, salutation, or cover letter.
