As usual you only tell part of the story (maybe you'd make a good Obama staffer?).

And now ... the rest of the story.

In the 60's, 70's and 80's there were significant legal judgements against General Aviation Manufacturers. Cessna never imagined when they produced an airplane that they might be legally liable for accidents 50 years later. They stopped producing airplanes (maybe that's why sales plummeted?)

In an effort to limit manufacturer liability and save the industry, Congress passed the General Aviation Revitalization Act (GARA). I'll spare you the ugly details and post a link below ...

General Aviation Revitalization Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mark,

The Act you quote went a long way to correct the liability issue. The big problem is that the customers don't have the $$$s available. Earnings growth for a large segment of the population has been flat for the last 30-40 years. If you remove women, the earnings have actually gone down. The only segment of the population besides senior management that has had earning growth in excess of the CPI has been the US military.

Quote: That's not a true statement, most immigrants do work which others walk away from. A lot of people rather live of the government instead of working for min wage. So this have nothing to do with immigrants.

Tell that to the guy I know who worked for IBM, was laid off when his dept. closed, and then found out IBM brought in Indians on contract to do his job under a new title. And if we cut off unemployment benefits after a year, Americans would be forced to do the jobs that the immigrants are doing. When's the last time you saw kids cutting grass in your neighborhood? Are those jobs no one wants?

Were you offering full time work? Benefits?

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess no, becuase otherwise the math in that equation doesn't work out.

In the 1950s, 60s, 70s good jobs were available. Most minimum wage jobs were filled by kids, not adults trying to support a family. In most homes the father went to work and the wife stayed home and raised the kids. The average family could afford more then compared to the two income family today. The CEO back then did very well with an adjusted income in today's dollars of $3 to 4 million. Today we have CEOs earning over $1,000,000 a week. Funny how some of these companies pay their employees close to the minimum wage. My first job in HS paid $1.25 hr in 1963. That converts to $9.72 today. What is the federal minimum wage today?

This country was build on hard work from our ancestors "immigrant" so what are you suggesting. Don't hire immigrants? I definitely don't support your buddy being laid of then replaced by cheaper labor regardless of the nationality of who replaced him. It was wrong, but don't make this problem about immigrants, because like I said they do most of the work others won't do. If I'm not mistaken a few years ago either Best Buy or Circuit City laid of all of their employees and rehire them at a fraction of what they were making in the same position. It's a business ethic which needs to be addressed on a much larger scale than Immigrants. Just like taking people's pension away while management get bonuses

We'll Said fox, the CEO should be payed as per a percentage of the lowest payed worker at the company. If his pay goes up 10% so should every other employee at a rate that don't increase the pay gab. This would solve a lot of the problems.

This is the way to NOT hire an American. With luck the day may come where you can watch a video of FedEx Flght Management learning how to deal with FedEx pilots.

How many families on welfare in the 50's 60's or 70's had one or two cars, big screen TV's, cable TV, new cell phones and $150 court shoes?
