Default Your FedEx advertising $$$'s at work

I doubt anyone cares, but in the world of F1 racing....

FedEx defects to McLaren
Wednesday January 17 2007

The American courier company has been in F1 with Williams since 1997 but has joined McLaren for the 2007 season.

At the launch of the McLaren MP4-22 car this week the FedEx logo was displayed on the overalls-collar of defending two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso and F1 rookie Lewis Hamilton.

FedEx has signed a long term deal .....

I care. I love F1 racing and wish FedEx had stuck with Ferrari (prior to Williams). I guess it got a little pricey to put the logo on the red cars once they started winning again. Schumacher received $25 million from Ferrari as salary but reportedly made close to $100 million annually from endorsements and sponsors.

FedEx cashed in huge in NASCAR though with Hamlin's success last year. I don't follow stock car racing quite as much but every time I happened upon a race flipping channels or saw highlights on ESPN, the FedEx logo(s) got plenty of exposure.

And now there's the new FedEx Cup in golf. Somebody in marketing knows what they're doing. Can't wait for the Superbowl commercials!

If Williams can complete more races, great decision being on Alonso's machine

Nascar? BRILLIANT!!!
SuperBowl? BRILLIANT!!

With all that money well spent in Nascar and the SuperBowl ads(not to mention FedEx field)...Maybe, just maybe, we'll finally get our name out there in the American public's mind.

F1 sponsorship. Money well spent, internationally. The rest of this is fluff and vanity.

I think the domestic "fluff" money could be better spent. Maybe, implementing some of the Ender's report recommendations? Whatever they may be.

IMHO

Do you think??? The marketing guys did a great job of having the anti-missile system tested on our MD-10's, too. That got us on the front page. So, maybe the bad guys can test it on us. Again, we'll be on the front page. BRILLIANT!!

Glad I'm on the Bus.

What a cynical ba_tard, I am.

I suspect that FedEx Field naming rights have paid for themselves many times over. FedEx entertains Congress before, during and after EVERY Redskin's game. It's a HUGE opportunity to lobby our law makers. Money VERY well spent!

Huh?

Do you think every corporation that buys a skybox, to entertain congress, pays $200 million? You don't have to buy the naming rights to the friggin' stadium, to do that.

It's a bit more than a sky box Busboy. Events for Congress actually start before the game at Union Station in downtown DC. FedEx then busses the congressmen and their staffs to FedEx field by motor coach. We're talking the "owners box" and hundreds of 50 yard line tickets. It's a waaaaay bigger deal than having a corporate box at a major sporting event.

And just for the record ... EVERY Redskins game is sold out (even during really bad record seasons).

I might be mis-understanding where your cynicism is directed.

But you might want to be on the MD-10 since I'm pretty sure 9 out of 10 terrorists can't tell the difference between a Bus and the MD if they both have FEDEX painted in big purple letters on the side. You might want that system working for you!
