Default FDX Vacation buy back

I know I read where the company was buying back vacation in every seat in July. But so far I haven't received a crew notification. Just wondering if other seats are also not seeing a buyback, and if so why the change?.......and for the record, I would have said no just like I have every other time I've been solicited.

No buyback in July in the Airbus capts seat, nor the fo's either, I think. So it's definitely not in every seat, though most of them.

Just because FDX is "soliciting" Vacation sell-back, doesn't mean they really are. A managament polling tool used during negotiations to sense how greedy we are as a group. The same would apply to "Advance Volunteer may be available in your seat".

Hard to get offers when you are already 75 hours negative into 2016....

Ski season was delightful this year.

Maybe I'm missing something (if so I'm sure someone will point it out) but if the company needs to cancel vacation periods they get them either voluntarily or involuntarily. Same 24 hr. penalty. Sure would suck to be the junior guy that has his taken when he was planning his kids wedding, cruise around the world or some other big event while someone else with no plans could have easily given it up.
I know if it's taken that you can choose another slot later in the year but lots of things can't be rescheduled.

Anyone in the last 30 years who has had their vacation canceled involuntarily because no one senior to them grabbed the money please raise your hand.

I can GUARANTEE if my vacation were canceled involuntarily due to company staffing needs that I would need to exercise sound judgement and determine a proper course of action. The FOM requires sound judgement from all crew members.
