Do you have any contact info for Bill Simpson from the Debrief? I have a question to ask him. Thanks!

That's funny, because they fought that last time. How the worm turns

No, I mislead you with that post. I was wrong. UPS wants more team drivers from the Teamsters. I wonder if their plan is to decrease domestic lift requirements to free up planes for international? That sounds plausible since it seems an impossible scenario to ground the 727s and not replace them with something immediately. Can they reduce domestic lift enough to compensate for 16 72s?

Based on the 767 order coming out three days after the powers that be claimed no decision has been made regarding future aircraft orders, I'd say the company is about as honest with the labor force as a cop who stands in front of a 50 car pile-up and says "move along...nothing to see here!"

Yup. That's why I take everything the co. says with a HUGE grain of salt. I don't really pay much attention to anything really until I see it with my own eyes.

They should have at least rescheduled the Debrief knowing that they had bought the new 767s. I thought the Debrief was a great concept of sharing info, but who knows after this?

new? , Its ok I remember going to something similar in 91 or 92, I was told ALL 747s gone by 1995 all DC8s gone by 1998-2000. ....... asked chief pilot about the whale in 2001 ..... all gone by 2005 and no 747-400 ever.

simply a tool to undermine the union in my opinion.

Jimmy Hoffa is buried under 35L at Worldport

The company has to keep things quiet so the SEC doesn't come knocking. Somebody leaks a 76 order and then people buy Boeing stock before the formal announcement. Then the insider trading police show up.

Look at press releases. The inital 767 order was to replace DC-8's then the A300 order was to replace DC-8's. Things change.

Do you think Jim Casey had anything to do with the Kennedy assassination?

Thank you Soyathink!! I was about to add that to this message before I saw your post. UPS can't tell you about it before they make it public knowledge, its called insider trading. If they told you that morning, just as the order was becoming public knowledge, that is ok. BUt not days before.

People jump the gun too quick. Need to seat back and research it a little before going crazy.
