The 757 N610AU (the old US Air) that had been sitting on the ramp at BFM was not outside today. It had been covered so I don't think it flew anywhere. I'm thinking that it has gone into the MAE hanger to start the door conversion.

Update: Looks like the center Jump seat has been axed by someone. Just got an email saying the cockpit will have one Jumpseat (the ironing board), we will keep the 3 in the back.

So LCAs will sit on the ironing board? Doesn't seem like a good place to observe the crew.

The diagrams I saw from an avionics guy had two js' in the front and two in the back. Since we're getting some of these from various carriers, I wonder if there are different configurations of the exsisting jumpseats therefore precluding some of our plans for a 2x2 configuration?

Especially if your not getting W/B passover!

The center jumpseat was a big deal during certification of the 757. It was originally offset to the left but after the flight test program passed the half-way point the feds (bless their hearts) decided they couldn't monitor the crew properly from that location and wanted it moved. Moving chairs in a cockpit ain't like moving the recliner in your living room. We had to beef up the floor so the seat could be installed in the "proper" position.

Default Removal of JS #2

I agree, the original P-F by MAE included the second JS on mechanically operated slides in order to place the JS back against the P-61 panel and out of the way. Some aircraft have the 2 JS config and some do not. EL AL #1 does, US Air #1 and EL AL #2 does not. So someone above the level of new hire scum bag sherpa like me has decided to remove, vice install an additional cockpit JS. For those of you that have had the pleasure of riding said seat, its worse than the blue room (i.e. the seat with the hole in it). The seat itself is not too uncomfortable but its literally stuck against the ceiling. You can see the crew operations fine, you just cannot see outside the aircraft. This is the info as of this minute, all subject to change (Standard). Hope that clarifies my post.

Oh by the way, I have never seen any configuration with 2 JS in the rear. As of today, the rear courier area has 3 JS's, 2 Fire Extinguishers, Galley, Audio Panel, and believe it or not, ITS OWN ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS (heat and ac controls). Go figure?

But they're not hooked to anything. They're there just to give the JS something to do.
