Over twenty years, however in my seat position, that's not very senior. The bus has a decent amount of day flying, however if you're junior, you have to make a concerted effort to get it. It's like a second job, really, not everyone is into spending their life on the computer, but if you notice my post count, it's obvious that it doesn't bother me!
I have found that getting up really early, flying many legs, getting a short layover, can be far more exhausting than 1-2 legs at night, with a much longer layover. Though it's not for everyone. Does UPS have the same options? I would think there is a huge diversity in flying schedules with UPS also. I just wouldn't completely rule out freight because of night flying, unless you truly hate it.

Hope it's soon, looks like we need people pretty badly. Vacation sell back and advance volunteer in all seats. I'd be happy to share my trip trading tips with you, there's a world of difference between flying the terrible trips and the great ones at FedEx, probably more than most airlines. I have heard UPS is similar in that respect.

You're at Omni, no? I should think your experience there would make you a shoe in for FedEx or UPS. You can't get that kind of wide body International experience just anywhere. If I was a young guy with a career ahead of me, I'd be doing EXACTLY what you're doing. Best of luck, and I mean that sincerely.

I had friends go to Evergreen thinking the same thing. Flew the classic,-400, and even the Dreamlifter before it went to Atlas. They have obviously since moved on, but couldn't get a call from UPS then or now.

Please read the last few pages on the Atlas Air Hiring thread before you say that. It could quite possibly be the worst career move you could make now. Management has very clearly laid out their intentions and roadmap to screw us. With merger and contract amalgamation talk there are VERY turbulent times ahead...

That's the irony ... YES, reserve in SDF does go somewhat senior. As a bottom 10%'er, I am able to hold whatever RSVA line is remaining. No choice of days off, and sometimes it can mean 20-30 days on call when the bids transition.
.... BUT .... even RSVA (midnight-noon on call) is better than the lines that do make it to the bottom, and I live in domicile ... commuting isn't a factor in my choice. It would suck for the bottom lines. Possibly more time away from home than a reserve line.
So in summary, reserve goes senior for a REASON, ... the OP isn't going to get a great clean commutable line

I can do a late night call once in a blue moon.....every night, no way.

And for me, I can bid a line one or two bid periods a year for a change. I think some of the others do the same.
