You may have good results using PDF to upload your resume. Portable Document Format, aka PDF, is made for these types of situations. You have no idea what word processor or viewer they might use. However, PDF is supposed to be a "standard" that they will be able to open. The application program does accept files in PDF. Just try to open your resume PDF file before posting to make sure a PDF viewer has no trouble reading it.
Good luck!

For the minority that use Macs that might like to know...
I used a .doc file for my resume on the application, then when I was emailed a request for my resume to me emailed back, I used a .rtf as well as a .doc version in case the format got zany in the translation. When I got the phone call there was no comment about it, but there were the std questions about the qualifications. I may ask at the interview if they had any problems with the one I sent. YMMV.

How long was it from the time you emailed your resume until the phone call?
