Now for the rest of the story. I'm sure you remember your ex-director of training , red headed guy, ex-community college , ex-intern.....also known as Mini-V? It was discovered by a United Airlines captain that this guy was not an qualified 121 crew member but had been issued a crew member's identification card by your management. Yeah, he was burning up the airways illegally until the TSA got involved. This too was covered up by your fearless leader in an attempt to avoid embarrassment. I guess you can say thats the reason for my "obsession" with anyone cheating the system. So do you really believe anyone at your company would take corrective action?

Other than the fond memories and wonderful legacy, I don't think we have to concern ourselves with him. Cronyism only gets one so far in the real world. It certainly never worked for very long in the old days.

YEP!!

Gotta do watcha gotta do.

Neah, I've had several fords and was awarded a 10k ford motor credit out of a class action with the old 6.0 diesel. Only work trucks, no need to compensate for "short" comings! PLUS I can't afford the 70k panty haulers. Actually even prefer the utility beds

I do on occasion work on the homes of legacy guys. Kinda get a glimpse of how you "real" pilots live. I personally don't have time to sit down twice a month and write pay checks to all the domestic help.......ROLFMAO J/k

Yep you do what you have to do to get ahead! I have an A&P/IA and work on some pretty nice Barons and Bonanzas on the side. Don't really need the money but I've been furloughed before.

CTRCommander 07-15-2016 03:01 PM

We have a guy at ATI who is an A&P/AI he lives and breaths bonanzas. Just a super guy on top of that. He loves the old V's!

Can't agree more in having something going. This place has screwed me over a number of times. Oddly two numbers above me have seen NO furloughs.

Outside flying is pretty popular, corporate moonlighters. I know ABX has a few too.

I was talking to an Atlas Capt and our pay is so far behind theirs it's essentially impossible to catch up in one contract. Especially if you do a historical look back at contract signings. I know someone jumped up in 707's tailpipe for being optimistic. That's good and all but I can't see it. I'd just ditch the uniforms call it what it is and just make ATI part time flying club that pays expenses. Oddly every time a carrier has done reduced lines the top tier senior guys bid'em

Your compensation is a direct result of what you tolerate. I'd be firing your self serving MEC.
