Good for you, and I hope a lot of people follow your lead. Even if you lack the qualifications for a 'better' job, go work somewhere else. Kalitta or Atlas or Omni will hire you- they all have failings but they're far better than ATI and their pilot groups are all working towards improving things. ATI appears to be trying to kick the legs out from everyone else. Hell, Kalitta Charters joined in today- go there. Failing that, go to a regional until someone else calls. If you can't get hired at a regional, god help you.

Anyone deciding to go to ATI needs to understand they are a literal industry trojan horse and you are aggressively undermining every single other carrier's efforts to improve pilot's lifestyles. And for what, exactly? Terrible pay, terrible work rules, and a job at a company that is about to become a complete industry pariah? Oh, and a Boeing type. Sure, go for it- I'm sure when people see ATI on your resume they'll kick your door down to hire you.

 

So, does this technically make some of the ATI pilots scabs? Asking for a friend.

 

No. Some ATI crews even walked the picket line with our guys. Granted that some of us are a bit po'd that ATI planes flew out of CVG and ILN, but its complicated and I've let it go. I think you'll find most of the issues with ATI are with the leadership of that group.

If your friend is thinking of going to work there however, he should seriously reconsider it just based on the pay alone.
