Very good point filejw... the mere fact REPEAT ITEM gained the attention of the DoM and of course the DO. I’ve been “counseled” regarding such entries... I countered... “if they fixed the item properly, then “REPEAT ITEM” entry wouldn’t be necessary, now would it. Same issues occur with five star overseas carriers I’ve flown with. What’s that saying??? Oh yes... “Same airline... different paint job”.

So they're admitting they know MX is being pencil whipped, and are mad at you for calling them out because they don't want the FAA asking about it when they look over the log books.

The problem is not always having the time for in depth checks at a hangar or worse don’t have a certain test equip somewhere to get the right answer where in the moment it happens to work. The FAK has limited equipment.

In MIA just lack of experience from mechanics. When I know more about components and doing the bite test you got an issue. That’s how we get our butt handed in Mia.

Even then a self test doesn’t always show the issue or can be replicated on the ground. These dinosaurs are worked hard and each have their own gremlins. The extra -400s I think have the most issues, they seem to be mostly electrical for some reason since we got them.

I’ve written up a pack about 4 times and every time they did something different. About the 5th time they just did a massive change out of the packs.

We throw buku parts at acft trying to troubleshoot. Most of the time it works. Other times it’ll persist but only inflight.

If you buy old airplanes, you've got to hire and pay experienced mechanics to maintain them. These issues aren't new. Everyone knows that at times we have to help the company out of a jam. But over and over again SOS, different day. To the point where its an expectation, hard press, outright intimidation. Move the airplane, or get a one way ticket to GSO to get demoted to F/O, or risk getting thrown under the bus and violated, because they cannot, and will not back you up if/when it goes badly.
There are a few people that know about this, but continue to make excuses for the company, in order to ingratiate themselves.
They see it, know that its wrong, but refuse to use their ingratiated influence for better, safer operations. Stop making EXCUSES.

Unpaid leave.

How many Pilots took the company's unpaid leave offer. Or were forced to take unpaid leave because of COVID19 and the high risk ICE flights. Were you forced to take that unpaid leave before, or after they took the CARES money. They may need to pay you for that leave. The money was intended, when taken, as to avoid that loss of income. Check with your Attorney, and then report the findings to the Federal Treasury Department.

I don't think anyone was "forced" to take the leaves

Hello?
Hi, this is David Speaks, take the unpaid leave or you’ll be fired.
OK sure, count me in!

* We’ll write that down as a voluntary shall we?

Sounds like the mafia. The Godfather has an offer you cannot refuse.

Back then they didn’t have cares money. They didn’t actually cash in till late July for it.

They forced people to take vacation. Even new people who didn’t have any accrued. New hires were in training limbo as they were delaying their lofts in order to save money with panam. Even doing OE this week with a pilot hired in March.

Then if I remember it was June when they offered the VRG. A lot of guys took it instead of moving to the new bases, of course august they were recalling people back to FT. A lot of people took the VRG and went to Omni, ATI, etc when they lost home basing.

Major changes at Swift

The lack luster leadership at Swift Air continues. Called into the HR department yesterday only to learn the entire department walked out. Heard some interesting facts directly from the Payroll Coordinator and Payroll Manager who recently left about two weeks. Brandon Keszler the current CIO tapes all calls incoming to the HR and Benefits Depts. I do believe I did not give my consent to be recorded when I called into Benefits two weeks ago to confirm my Short Term Disability paperwork. HIPPA is being violated in all these cases. Payroll Manager, Tina Brannock who abruptly resigned from Swift, left due to the fact she did not want her signature on any payroll records as money is being stolen by the leadership team there. Tina further states Brandon uses all laptops provided to employees to remotely dial into the laptop and access information. He has been known to activate both the camera on the laptop and speaks so he can hear what is taking place in the privacy of your home. Payroll is a mess and Brandon refuses along with Boris to address the various coding issues in Blue 1. Tina has been asked on numerous occasions to falsify payroll records. She also has evidence to support Swift knowingly violated the CARES ACT funding by laying off several employees after receipt of the funds. There is currently no one in HR and no one heading up the Payroll Dept. Spoke with Teresa, and she stated they asked her to stay on after paying her additional severance to stay on. Makes you wonder why an entire HR dept walked out? Is it due to finding violations of way too many laws? If you are a pilot or any employee who has been provided with a company laptop from Swift Air, ensure you completely shut it down and close it. This is an invasion of privacy into my home. Federal wire tapping and taping phone calls coming into two critical department such as payroll and HR violates the employee's right to privacy and confidentiality. Be very aware with your company assets.
