I just got to Canadia. They couldn’t wrap their heads around that I am DH crew into Canada and not taking their jobs. And to think, I could give up 250k+ a year with no state income tax, a view of the Atlantic and 300+ days of 70 degree weather and sun and move to Canada. They(she) was hostile and combative, SOP for Canada.

Good! I don’t wish anyone a dreadful entry. My colleague has had the same issue with our current airline and when we were at OH, in Halifax. He got the windowless room for 3 hours.

Flying private jets into Canada I've never had an issue. It's rare they even show up at the jet, usually you just make the call and they say you're good to go. DH in no issues either at YYZ or YUL.

Years back after a phone call clearance from customs....the CMP came to the FO's hotel room and escorted him to the airport for a return flight to the US.
Yes you have to complete a waiting period (5 years after conviction/prison IIRC) and then apply for "rehabilitation" (ie pay a hefty bribe).
Without that you're pretty much no-go for travel to Canada, which means no-go to get hired at most operators who fly there (if you're already employed, they'll *typically* just let you avoid CA trips if prctical, although termination is certainly legal in this situation).
I'd talk to your nearest CA consulate, they would be the best source. Or maybe a lawyer, but I'm not sure you really need to spend that coin to complete an administrative process.[/QUOTE/
Got it, thanks

They've been harassing us for a few years now on Canada turn flights. If your on the ground more then :45 min you need the Queen herself to approve, hit :46 mins and SHTF, airline gets raped for several thousand, SOP for Canada.
Broke down once in YVR and I remember mx guy telling me they had to import our own part we flew up on the next flight, paid several thousand in import taxes on a part for a plane built in Canada, SOP.
It's all about picking your pockets, pay your several thousand dollar fine and your no longer considered a criminal, you've been rehabilitated, welcome to Canada..

Been flying to Canada for almost 20 years - a ton with my former regional and quite a bit with UPS which includes some paid tickets to/from Canadian destinations. Out of the hundreds of times I’ve done it, not 1 time did I or anyone of my crew have the slightest issue, attitude, or problems you guys describe above. I remember the 45 rule and this had to do with a scheme to play the ‘not officially landing’ in Canada game which saved the regionals a ton of cash and worked out most of the time. As far as the tax thing goes, I’m sure it’s a two way street.
