Default World Schedules

How is the QOL on the road at world?

How many days do they own you for? 16? 18? are all lines days in a row, or are their split lines?

Is dead head always in coach? how much dead head do you typically do?

Is guarantee really 76 hours?

thanks

Good.
Gty 12 days off min.
some split lines if you can hold them or want them, seniority based.
Most travel is in coach. Depending on your seniority and trips you choose, is variable. I normally commercial into a trip from home and commercial home from a trip. 1 round trip commercial, your mileage may vary.
Min gty is 65, depending on your type of reserve line it could be as much as 80hrs.

The guarantee's 65 hours, but that's paid at 4.8 hours per day Trip Hour Pay (THP); meaning you're making guarantee in 13.8 days. Most trips are built somewhere over sixteen days, so the hourly pay is computed accordingly. If your trip's eighteen days in duration, you get 18 x 4.8.

QOL is good, and the guys with whom you fly are top drawer. The work rules are pretty expansive, and they're enforced; e.g., if you opt to exceed a 16-hour day (three-man), you're compensated one-for-two.

Hotels are nice, by & large, and there are standards that are enforced.

Commercials vary by the line awarded you, or by what happens during the trip if you're on reserve. I don't really have a complaint except the coach travel.

World's great- highly standardized and pretty professional.

It is about as good as it gets at an ACMI carrier, the more senior you are, the better it can get/be, like most anywhere.

Minimum 12 days off AT HOME per month, unless you consent to less, and some folks do, for which they are well compensated. Working on a day off usually yields 8.4 hours/24hr period, or better, when the THP rig is coupled with pay for a day off not received. Lines vary, split lines are usually the exception.

Almost always in coach internationally, I persoanlly did over 200,000 miles last year, and I only commuted 9 months last year. The other 3 months I operated out of my home city, or rode a company airplane from stateside to overseas. Since Jan 1 this year, I've done 42,000 miles on DL and 6000 on the Star Alliance. We have a lot of business in the middle east right now, so that's >16k /round trip, that's why most guys and the company don't prefer split lines. Short notice tickets tend to be in higher fare classes, so upgrading them with your miles or certificates is easier, but it can be a crap shoot. I've crossed the Atlantic 4 times this year in Coach and 4 in Biz-ness, none of which were at company expense. My wife really enjoys using the reward ticktes I earn for her, and if momma's happy, everybody's happy

Guarantee is 65, reserve guarantee is 76, reserve lines tend to go a little senior, most months.

Fly Safe.
