Default Sun Country

Hey guys, looking into applying to Sun Country and wondering if someone could chime in and help me out with a few questions.
1. What are the reserve rules like and how long can a new hire expect to be on reserve?
2. Once you are able to hold a line, what are those like? Mostly day trips or longer ones?
3. What are the health insurance benefits like?
4. What are the travel benefits like? Are there zed agreements with any airlines?
5. Overall, how's the work environment and relationship with management?

I really appreciate any input you guys can provide. Thanks!

1. Reserve is a 2 hour call out. 10 days or 11 days off depending on a 30 or 31 day month, reserve is lasting a few months. I bid reserve because I live close to the airport and I dont mind getting called for an out and back or a 1 or 2 night trip when it happens. I have only had 5 overnights this year... Its nice if you have a family and like to spend time at home with family and friends. On reserve you fly maybe once or twice a week during the busy seasons. When its slow, like it is in May you might not fly, or if you want to fly more call scheduling and have them put you on a trip. There isnt much movement as the captains dont leave. The movement is all in the FO side. A year of seniority will allow you to basically pick whatever type of a line you want. I hope that helps.
2. Half of the line trips are day trips. Then about 20 percent are day trips with 1,2 and 3 night trips. Then another 20 percent are 3,4,5 day trips which the commuters pick those up. and the rest are redeyes and other charters and miscellaneous flying. I think more and more new hires are bidding reserve as lots of new hires are local and have families.
3. Health insurance is not bad. As at most companies we are seeing premiums increase. We have 3 different plans. I think our bronze family plan is 350 a month... not exactly sure, dont pay much attention to that.
4. travel benefits are good. We can get zed on a bunch of airlines.
5. We have had an amendable contract for 4+ years! You take a wild guess how the relationship is!! I flew the owner of the airline back to MSP a few months ago and he didnt even stick his head in the cockpit to say HI... I will say the Chief Pilot is outstanding and his guys are good. Its the guys at the corporate office that are a PITA!
