I think there are a lot of good comments on here regarding this, but this is a different type of flying than regionals. Some folks might think it's a huge QOL increase and others might hate it. Depends on your personal perspective.
Right on,

I have been at Atlas for a little over two years and dont have an app in anywhere yet. I do love it here but those who want a career here have a responsibility to make it better for the long run. If I am going to stay here for the next 25 years then when its all over I want to able to have something to show for it. Retirement and some of the work rules in their current state are not up to par. All Atlas has to do is allow me to respect myself by working here. 95% of the FO's that Ive talked to age group 30-45 agree and also feel that if it doesnt change soon than they are going to make a strong push to leave.

I support regional pilots wanting to come here as well because most of them have good experience working for a lame company with a union constantly fighting so they know that and are happy to fight for what's right.

I agree wholeheartedly. The problem is, there are nearly two years until the contract is amendable and likely several more years after that before we have a TA. To wait for the outcome would mean literally thousands in lost seniority should one decide to leave at that point. All things equal, I too would rather stay here, just can't wait five years to see IF it improves.

Atlas doesn't really care about the degree; they might even prefer that you not have it because they know you'll be less likely to leave. They do like to see a lot of Jet PIC though.

QOL is a matter of perspective. Large blocks of time (13-16 days) off at a time is a mini vacation every month. Flip side is if you have young kids at home you miss a lot of events. As far as contract goes, it should move much faster this time since the circumstances are completely different. The company knows they were unbelievably lucky in the last negotiations due to foolish concessions. They also know if they don't get competitive they will continue to lose pilots.

"foolish concessions"?...wow, might big words without much foundation. But there are several other threads that can better address that assertion.

The guy asks an honest question and you give a smart a$$ answer.

The motto on this board is or was "Pilots helping pilots."
