I would also say that a regional pilot might:
-Come to Atlas and love it and want to stay (and make a lot more money long-term)
-Or come and get a type rating (either aircraft) and flight experience that would vastly improve their resume and might be worth what some would consider to be a QOL hit and perhaps some pay loss if that were indeed the case.
I think there are a lot of good comments on here regarding this, but this is a different type of flying than regionals. Some folks might think it's a huge QOL increase and others might hate it. Depends on your personal perspective.

I have been at Atlas for a little over two years and dont have an app in anywhere yet. I do love it here but those who want a career here have a responsibility to make it better for the long run. If I am going to stay here for the next 25 years then when its all over I want to able to have something to show for it. Retirement and some of the work rules in their current state are not up to par. All Atlas has to do is allow me to respect myself by working here. 95% of the FO's that Ive talked to age group 30-45 agree and also feel that if it doesnt change soon than they are going to make a strong push to leave.

QOL is a matter of perspective. Large blocks of time (13-16 days) off at a time is a mini vacation every month. Flip side is if you have young kids at home you miss a lot of events. As far as contract goes, it should move much faster this time since the circumstances are completely different. The company knows they were unbelievably lucky in the last negotiations due to foolish concessions. They also know if they don't get competitive they will continue to lose pilots.
