So let’s say Compass does lose Delta flying, what happens? Compass furloughs?

Newbie here, Compass interview scheduled in two weeks...

I'm assuming something is under the works to replace the Delta flying... There is a constant stream of new hires, why would we hire and spend money training people if there was no plan? Not to mention all of the flight attendants we're hiring now.

I definitely don't know a lot thought. I'm currently in the middle of training... so who knows.

Ya. But they will take over SEA-SNA.....

I think the A220s will be gradually phased in and the Compass Delta contract will be extended at least - or at worst gradually drawn down - over the course of another year after next summer. After which I personally hope to be flying A220s on the SEA-SNA and SEA-SAT routes.

Regionals aren’t a career destination, they are a means to an end. And Compass is better than most in that regard. People here are generally progressing pretty well, and the majors haven’t hit their max retirement numbers yet, and won’t for another 4 years. Get your time and move on.

Anyone know what happened to the Compass modified 2Pac video someone made?? I think it’s on the broken forum

As long as I have followed airline life / regionals - (since 1998) it's still the best times in regional life I have seen. If anyone had a crystal ball in aviation they would have 365 days off a year. SO what happens is you get an ATP, type rating, 121 time and guaranteed west coast. Then once things change you make the next best decision for your particular situation. For myself the philosophy of "go where you would be OK long term" does not apply for my personal situation - so Compass is perfect for me being if I went to OO for stability I would likely be there long after I have TPIC from Compass.

Go to interviews and if it seems like a fit for you - take it day by day and enjoy it. I am still amazed I get to go fly 121 with minimum hours.

I am personally looking forward to being a part of seeing what happens. Holding out on the Disney rumor to have mickey ears captains hats. :)

I may start a ‘flow to Moxy’ rumor. Looking back over the APC threads over the last five years, such a prediction couldn’t Be any farther off than most of the ones previously made.

The only certainty in this entire industry is the mandatory retirements coming up at the biggies. Other than that tipping the odds in favor of the players rather than the house for awhile (and really, the ‘house’ will win too as they lower the average seniority for pay purposes of their pilots) it has always been a gamble. Just that now the odds are better for the regional pilots than ever before.

Oh we get guaranteed Moxy? Sweet. :p -- If one want's certainty - don't be in aviation -- even then there is no certainty.
