This is the regionals. The name of the game is get in, get the hours, and go elsewhere. Unless you ASPIRE to be a regional lifer. You are sitting at the start of the greatest demand for major airline pilots in the last 3 or 4 decades. Why wouldn’t you want to log hours?

Cuz it’s hardly been about hours for some time now. People need employment first and foremost. Flying your butt off to “get in, get out” isn’t really realistic for most in my experience.

OK Rick Leach, whatever you say.

Who aspires to be a regional lifer lol. And no I don't think there is going to be too much flying, I think we are gonna lose too many pilots and it's gonna be a sh!t show. just about everyone I've flown with or ran into has some other option they are pursuing. There are plenty more stable opportunities to log hours. There aren't gonna be any hours to log in a few months. No need to stick around waiting for this new opportunity to come around. If there is this magical new opportunity I guarantee it's at least a year before anyone even touches one of the planes.

Hey, like everyone else, I’m hedging my bets - which is why I know there are decent opportunities out there. The issue is whether to ride this horse a little longer to see if they can pull a rabbit out of the at, or leave early. If they can’t get more flying I think this place will fold. I think the overhead cost would eat any 20 ac fleet alive.

What I didn’t understand - and don’t agree with - was your comment that in 2-3 months there won’t be enough people to fly the lines we will have. You may be correct, I suppose, anything is possible, but that sure wouldn’t be my guess.

It was a question that was brought up, and deflected on the call. If we lose a third, or even half of our pilot group, will there be enough pilots for the new flying? Or even the current flying for that matter.

Are a lot of people waiting on class dates, especially captains.

I believe RT's answer to the question was "once the new opportunity is announced he has no concerns about being able to attracted new applicants" a little deflection be not totally.

If there's anything good to announce it all depends on how much lead time they give. But will they be able to attract new captains like they will FOs?
