Here's probably your best bets to get the best double wave back:

1. Local Unemployment Office (currently)
2. Spirit Crews
3. In a few months, probably some Atlas crews

Anyone here who did the last flight? Wonder what it was like. How did the last crew get back from AVQ? Did the company dump them off or take care of them? I don't put it past CPZ management to try to screw them.

BTW accrued vacation is considered earned compensation in the state of CA and state law overrules the CBA so if they try to not pay you out your vacation because you didn't give two weeks or whatever other reason they come up with tell them you're going to file a wage claim with the CADOL theb actually do it if they don't pay you out.

I was at Compass a little over 3 years as a FO, CA, and LCA and I had a great time. I predicted this would happen in 2019 or 2020 but not becauseoof Coronavirus. I'm sorry to see so many good people lose thier jobs. By the time I left every trip was like hanging out with family for a couple of days.

9 and a half years with Compass in the HQ including dispatching many of flights in the olden days. Quite eerie walking in one last time today to turn in my badge and seeing every light and computer off within the SOC.

It has been a pleasure and “Thank you!” to the entire pilot group for your class and composure all the way to the end!

Its been a pleasure all!

I was operating a Spirit flight LAX-FLL that night. Missed the inbound by about 20 minutes. Wish I heard y'all come in. Miss my Compass bros. When this all passes, feel free to PM me and I'll try to put in a word to hiring.

Wouldn't it be nice if a state law would overrule a CBA. Unfortunately that's just not true.

Actually seems you're right. I would still fight it with a wage claim if they won't pay it out.

The success of the claim depends on your CBA. A CBA can restrict vacation/sick bank payouts, and if the contract doesn't have any provisions for furloughs/airline shutdown, then you might be SOL.
All depends on what your contract says about it.

I did the last Revenue and last Repo flight for Compass last night. It was amazing. The real employees that loved each other and could see through the BS of negativity and politics enjoyed themselves to the fullest. The love from everyone from towers, enroute, ground personal, internet, and everyone in between was a little overwhelming honestly. Still hard to believe such an amazing place could end up like this.
We had town car waiting for us to take us to Tuscon. Hotel was great and deadheaded home today.
Maybe upper management is disconnected with the real boots on the ground but I am MGMT and fought daily for what was best for my pilots. I take offense to anyone who accuses me of anything less.

And one one last thing. There was a deal on the table. And it was almost complete. Unfortunately this is not Hollywood and there is not always a happy ending. As my father used to say "We were diddled by the dangling dong of destiny."
For the record TSH is definitely to blame for the Compass down fall in case there is any doubt out there who to point the finger at.
The only thing we can do now is hope that our fellow aviators at gojet have a better run at it now that they are the sole survivor.
Best of luck to you all. Build each other up, don't tear each other down. Before this is all over there will be more pilots on the street. Good luck.
