Compass Updates III: Last Double Wave
 

Closing doors next month.. Glad to have been part of the best pilot group and home to some of the most entertaining APC threads in history

It's been a great ride with you all. From double waving down Charlie wondering why OO won't wave back, to having first class ask the FA's why we are laughing so hard. Some of the greatest memories have been had. Network and reach out to any of us, let's get through this.

Absolutely Brutal guys. So sorry this is happening.

There will never be another group of pilots as tight as Compass. So proud to have worked here. Godspeed friends.

We will always have the email from NC, the "UGHHHH" heard round the world. When you are sad, or you just need a pick-me-up, think about her and the wonderful gift she gave us that day. Or Braden's pen. Also cheers me up.

Hitched a ride with y’all a few times from LAX-SMF. Y’all are a fine group of folks. I wish everyone of you the best and if this ******* storm ever comes to an end I wish you a speedy entry back into the industry. We may all be in your shoes before it gets better.

Some of my favorite memories:

- hearing a certain pilot do a perfect Matthew McConaughey on the radio during an arrival into LAX while I teared up laughing.

- me and VIROTATE flying together out of SJC and not being able to control our laughter when we heard what sounded like someone transmitting from a bathroom.. Atc was not impressed when I responded after three calls still laughing as I read back the hand off

- seeing Poser765 walk out of a planet fitness south of the airport in a crisp airline uniform and explaining to me that he lived in a van

- forgetting to hand the release out at the gate.. So I opened the window and papercliped an EmergenC pack to it and tossed it out the window to the gate agent laughing on the ramp. She then tried to toss the EmergnenC pack back and after a couple of tries I caught it

Too many memories to list.. So many good times flying with so many people

I had the pleasure flying for Compass for 4.5 years. I moved on flying yellow buses. I have never flown with a more enthusiastic and professional bunch of people. No matter how many junior assignments, broken a/c, schedule mismanagements, crews somehow made light of the situation and got the job done! We invented the Compass wave, ridiculous memes, and produced the most clumsy and indecisive bachelor in the history of reality T.V.! (Still love ya Pete!) Stay strong bothers and sisters. The storm will pass. Tailwinds will return. Rides will improve. I will pray for all of you tonight.

Sorry to hear the news. I was there for almost 4 years between 2014-2018. 2015 - till we lost those first 6 airplanes were truly the heyday of Compass and the memories built there will last for ever. Truly sad to see what happened. Eventhough i moved on almost two years ago, this damn virus is affecting us all and I hope to see you all flying on the other side of it.
