Don't forget drug testing is an hour of block above guarentee. Be sure to ask for it on the time card. Also instructor pay is above guarentee. Jumpseat; air canada/jazz, midwest, jet blue, air wis, sky west, shutle republic frontier pied, mesaba, commute air are a few. Hope the others airlnes will file in now there is cass. Trouble is getting the gate agent to see it that way. They look at the main line agreement, which is not reciprocating, and can not figure it out how to put you on the flight.

Ah, thanks. I'm trying to figure out how to get back from FRA next week if NWA fills up; it sounds like Air Canada to YYC, YUL, or YYZ is going to be my only option. At least flight loads are relatively light to/from Europe this time of year.

I don't see where this is going to cause the pilot group to time out. The regs set the flight limitations, and the contract is always, if anything, more restrictive. If you reach a 100 credit hours in a month you will have flown less than that. And, I do not think the 100 credit hour mark will be reached unless you pick up a lot of trips or have some super long delays.

That was the main point, you are flying less than the credit. I am not sure yet how much 'soft money' is to be made at Compass. I am sure your experience was at another airline and did not happen a whole lot in a year.
|
You're right, the lack of rigs at Compass could result in less "soft time" than we're used to at other airlines. A lot of it will depend on how efficiently they build the schedules (every day more than 3:30?) and how well-staffed the airline is (junior assignment counts towards credit time). If you're getting much premium pay, you could get to 1000 hrs credit while still only at 800 block or so.

100 Hrs
Just wait unitl December 08, they will be so desperate for people to cover trips....LOL....the 100 hour pay credit rule will be waived and they will be begging for people to fly. That problem will resove itself. Been there done that.:o

I'm kinda scratching my head over how this is supposed to save them money. Limit number of hours your pilots can fly = hire more pilots per airplane = additional cost. Hmm.

Has anybody heard anything new about our capt. pay? Just got my paycheck and still FO pay, I'm going to go bankrupt if this keeps going on! The union was supposed to have had a meeting with them at the end of this month about this issue. Has anybody heard about any changes to the flow-thru, I've heard some rumors?

I have not heard anything specific besides what you guys have put here. First off thanks for keep those of us on our 18 hours of pay,20-30 hour month long home study program up to date on what is going on there. I truly hope that all of us sitting waiting to come to class are reading what is going on here. It seems unfortunate because they seem to be really making a lot of guys unhappy...Not what you want at a start up. A few friends told me how happy the were the first 2-3 weeks and now all of that has gone drastically down hill. I know I will get responses that this is associated with NWA...so what would I expect. But you would think that they would start to learn now that this type of business does not work. I guess not! All I see happening is a large number of people leaving or not even showing up for class. |
