Well if that is the case then 1000 guys are still regional CA instead of accruing longevity and pay at mainline because of the mainline pilots mentality if it has less than 50 seats we dont want it. If scope was never given away these 1000 FO that you mention could have been captains on the CRJ or ERJ but it was given away. Dont blame regional guys, they had no say in any of this. Back in the mid to late 90's all you needed was some 1900 CA time and it was easy to get on with the majors. Now you must have way over 1000 TPIC and know several people. Mainline pilots jobs have shrunk and you have no one to blame but managment and mainline guys for that.

Would you leave a place like say colgan for them? I have an interview with them coming up and have been back and forth on this. I'm not in danger of furlough, but the prospects here are not very good at all. Just looking for advice, perspective

check out www.airlinepilotcentral.com for pay scales. according to the orientation they had on the interview, they're saying 2 yrs for upgrade and to "flowthru" to NW you gotta be with compass for 5 yrs. of course there's also the "flowback". If you've read this thread i'm sure you're aware of it.....
