Compass Info

Any info on the number of pilots still to be hired for 2008? Any ideas of where most new hires are being sent? I saw the job posting and it showed for MSP only. Thanks.

I think we are in the neighborhood of 250ish pilots right now, which would leave around 100 pilots left to be hired this year. If you want MSP you should be able to get it within a month, but you may get sent to DTW or MEM first.

MSP is senior, and MEM and DTW are junior. You should be able to bid right into MEM or DTW, and MSP should only take a month or so after training to hold. Though I have heard some guys bid MSP in training and were switched before they even hit the line.

263 on the list as of about a week ago. I have heard the planned number of 360 includes the management so looks like abour 100 more to go. hopefully no flowback will mess that all up. Listing shows MSP cause that is technically your base till you are assigned something else in training

My class date is next week, and I was told that I would be in the 270ish range for seniority number.

Are the minimums still quite high, relatively speaking, at Compass? Aren't they something like 1500TT and 1000ME?

UnlimitedAkro 07-02-2008 04:58 AM

You must meet all the ATP mins. Period.

The 1000 hour multi engine requirement is very flexible. Some people got hired as low as 500 multi, there might even be lower multi time out there? Many guys hired between 600 and 800 hours of multi, though most of them had 121 experience.

Staffing is currently 5 crews per airframe. 36 X 10 = 360 line pilots.

Anybody know what I can expect for orientation in 3 weeks? I guess it's 2 days in MSP. I was told to bring exercise cloths.... what's up with that?
