Default Compass airlines Question

Does Compass airlines have a possibility to furlough pilots in the near future and how does the training work? I heard it was if hired go to MSP for two days then take 30 days of study material home with you then 45 days in Montreal? Does that seem right and are you paid for it?

very strange operation. lady said they pay for hotel, but everyone else on here says "NO"

lady said she would send out interview packet- hasnt sent it out yet-- its been almost a week.

when NW/Delta furloughs where do you think they are going to go--- then answer where do you think you're going to go?

i just dont know about them-- it seems like temp employment, kinda like United-- use you for a little while then toss you out like this week's garbage.

any other observations?

It is very interesting that you would say that an airline uses you to get what they want and then throws you away. (pretty much stating the obvious) in light of what you have bragged about on here and Flight Info about doing to MaxJet. I hear that Maxjet had a recall class last week and that if their new owner comes through that they will be hiring off of the street in a year or two. Too bad you quit ther under such bad circumstances or you could have gone back there.

There are plenty of people who got through the interview and hiring process just fine, except for the people who gave the company a reason not to hire them. Hopefully your above post isnt the attitude you carry around, or I wouldnt be surprised why you didnt receive anything in the mail.

I have to agree. They have been fairly good at keeping those ppl that I would rather not spend a 4 day trip with out of my a/c. One of the things I like about this airline is the good personality's and the willingness of EVERYONE to help even if it ISN'T in their job description. Times are tough and it seems not the best time to be carrying a chip around on one's shoulder. These are the times I like to see ppl helping ppl.

I have been sending in friends info to the Chief almost daily this last week. I am glad that I am in a position to help my friends.

I don't know why Skippy feels the need to attack all the Compass posts lately but if you were looking for an interview with your attitude I am fairly sure it will not have a favorable outcome.

Your real question should be, "Does anyone know of an airline that doesn't have the possibility of furloughing pilots in the near future?"

The industry is what it is right now. Everyone is in a pinch so you're taking your chances. For me it was a no brainer, I get to do what I love and live where I wanted to. It may not last forever, but I'm going to make the most of it while I can.

Like they said above, check the other threads and I think you'll find what you're looking for. Good luck!
