For recent Compass Hires!
What was the timeline from accepting the job to doing your first week in MSP?
Was the month of homestudy followed immeadiately by Sim training or was there a longer delay?
Trying to figure out the whole timeline for compass training!
Thanks

Scheduled for interview: 10 days later
Interview to job offer: 1 day
Job offer to Orientation day: 3 weeks (my option)
Orientation day to Return to class: 9 days (finished the CBT in 3 days and recieved a call to return the following Monday)
The CBT is scheduled for 30 days, but you can finish it it less than a week if you put in the time. Once you are finished, send an email to the training dept., or wait for their call, and they will put you in the next available class.

awesome thanks for the response... how quick were they able to get you in ERJ class?
How do you like it so far?
So there is only 1 day of orientation, I must have gotten the wrong word, I thought MSP was around a week long, so that is less out of pocket hotel time...a good thing!

The day after I finished the CBT they called to put me in class the following Monday, so...1 day for the call, 3 days before class.
Haven't started class yet, so I don't know whether I like it or not.
The structure of class is such - The day before orientation, you go to the clinic for a medical exam (think first class medical), then you have one day of orientation (HR drivel, plus instructions on how to operate the CBT). You are initially scheduled for your class (1 week MSP, 5 weeks YUL) for 30 days after your orientation date. If you finish the CBT early, they will give you the next available class date if you wish.

OK, makes sense now, I was thinking the 1 week at MSP came before the 30 days home study... For your group, are they still not paying hotels in MSP since it is considered domicile?
I am sending you a PM with a few other questions... thx

App to interview - 2 months (they lost my app)
Interview to Job offer - 1 day
Job offer to Physical and Orientation in MSP - 1 month
Orientation to 1 week of Ground in MSP - 1 month
The week after ground in MSP it's off to YUL for the sim.
Hope that helps.
Make sure they send you everything, there's been a little confusion lately due to a change in HR personnel. Good people and company though.

I got the call this tues for an interview and we scheduled it for next thurs. They said they'd be sending an email with all the info on it but as of yesterday, nothing. So I called back and inquired about it and the lady said that they may have to reschedule interviews as they're having a hard time finding hotel rooms and that I should be hearing from them by "mon or tues" Doesn't make much sense but oh well........

When I got the call, she made it seem like they paid for the hotel room. But after reading the posts here and on aviationinterviews.com, i dont think that's true. So i think this whole story about having to maybe delay interviews due to hotels as well as them telling me (erroneously i think) that they pay for the hotel all stems from the fact that they're having some HR issues with new people. Someone on here said that you could go and steal one of their Embraers right now and they wouldnt notice.

Do you know if you can retake a CBT exam if you dont pass it? I just did one, and was asked questions that I don't think were covered in the material, and came dangerously close to not passing one of the exams.
