Default question about nwa/delta and compass

I understand the flow through rights and flow back at compass and I obviously dont work for compass but my question is with the amount of layoffs NWA announced, would a flow back into compass be considered a furlough from NWA, or since NWA owns compass, would it be considered a downgrade?

Thanks and good luck.

IF that happens, that would be a furlough.

fair enough, reason i asked is becuase i know you guys have some sort of loa that was signed to prevent furloughs but i would never put it past an airline management to try and steer around something and if it was considered a downgrade that might be something they would try. Thanks

Yes...no furlough clauses are not worth the paper they are written in if the fuel keeps climbing up. However, if fuel stays where it is or drops, there is a good chance we won't see any furloughs with early out plans, reduced monthly line values, half-month off plans etc.

The flowthru can only occur in the event of a furlough. In other words, the most junior 747 SO can't elect to take a Compost Ca job in order to make more $$, he would have to be furloughed to make more $$...

Default Question about Compass Airlines

Does Compass airlines have a possibility to furlough pilots in the near future and how does the training work? I heard it was if hired go to MSP for two days then take 30 days of study material home with you then 45 days in Montreal? Does that seem right and are you paid for it?

Had a Compass new hire on the jumpseat the other day, he said the pay for the 30 day take home is a whopping 15 hours. Now, I think that's the max you have to do it. In other words, if you can do it in 3 days then get it done and try to get into an earlier class.
