Default Resign number at Compass???

I just interviewed at Compass because I am getting furloughed, they said you have to give up your number.... Anyone know if they make you sign anything or if they actually check???

I am at compass right now(training) and the same thing was brought up during my interview. So far they never have brought it up to me. Nothing to sign, or anything about giving up my number. The only thing they did was on the first day of orientation, they wanted us to sign a training contract, which I told them no because I already have the e175 type rating. But keep in mind, the people that interviewed our group don't work at compass anymore, so maybe we slipped through the cracks. I have talked to a lot of other furloughed guys here and of the ones I have talked to, none of them have been asked to give up their number. Hope that helps.

Same here. I'm in training right now and have never been asked to give up my number. In fact, I'm still employed at my old airline until Oct 1 when my furlough becomes effective. When I was given the job offer at Compass the guy that called me told me that I could keep working at my old job while I'm doing the homestudy (which I'm doing). Everyone in my class is furloughed and none of us have been asked to give up our old airline seniority as far as I know.

Good to know, anyone make it to the line without giving it up?

It's legally questionable as to whether they can force you to give up your number, and even if they do you might be able to get it back when the time comes.

Also, depending on where you are a coming from, a compass number with flow-thru to DAL might be more valuable than any regional job (or a UAL number).

Mesaba also has a flowthrough to DAL when the merger goes through but no one is flowing through right now and no one should count on it for sure.

Mesaba has nothing to do with resigning a number at Compass.

Thanks for adding the required "Don't count on the flowthrough, they never work, blah blah blah".

I believe the point was it may be better to have a flowthrough deal that MAY work than a seniority number at an airline that might not ever call you back.

How many times have you posted this? Do you just copy and paste this same line over from your desktop every time? Lucky for you, I have a life, otherwise I could go back and find every thread about Compass or NWA or some random flow-thru thread where you added in that Mesaba has a flowthrough. You are starting to remind me of that dork in high school who jumps in other peoples conversations to add in something pointless to try to fit in. I do not mean to attack you personally, but it's just getting old and I know we are all tired of hearing the same line from you.
