Default Compass Hiring

Announced this morning: Compass immediately hiring 12 pilots.

Likely to come out of the pool. Thought those of you on the street would want to know. Best of luck to all of you.

The 12 new hires sound like they will be on reserve for awhile, what kind of reserve rules do you have? Long call or reserve duty period, do you do ready reserve? I thought I heard from someone that you guys were trying to get some new agreements on the scheduling sections.

Anyone have numbers on how many are in the pool? Also, any info on if they are still actively interviewing, and if so, how often? Thanks

Also, worth noting, on a job posting page, Compass is advertising for a job fair for the 29th in MSP. Although it isnt for pilots, it is for numberous staffing positions. I dont hear anything about them getting more planes, curious what the deal is...

Our headquarters is moving from Chantilly, VA to Minneapolis. While some crew schedulers, dispatchers, and other office personal are moving to MSP with the company, many will not. My guess is the job fair is to fill some of those positions.

No long call but I rarely start a day on reserve (I'm a Captain, can't say if this is true on the FO side). They call the day before and give your assignment for the next day. I have worked every day this month. Reserves at Compass are line holders who don't know what they are going to do...I personally like this, and bid reserve even though I could hold a line (I have reasons), but some don't like the uncertainty.

How truely sad it has become this industry... As long as guys are lining up to work for one of the worst contracts in the business there is no wonder why things wont improve.

I know everyone NEEDS a job, but fellas, there are better and bigger things to be doing then to slave away with ABSOLUTLY NO end in sight, remember your dignity, self respect and and WORTH. If you choose to do the job you determine your worth and all of the above at the rate the are willing to give. Please remember its basic economics... As long as you line up to take the job, why should ANYTHING improve?

Just an observation from a guy who was among you and now isnt, by choice. Best move I ever made and I truly hope you can say that as well one day regardless of your career paths.

You all are hard working professionals and deserve better. Start asking for what you deserve and dont settle for less.

Good luck to all.

Default Not flaming?

Well what do you suggest people do? Nobody is hiring right now. I think you should quit drinking and typing.
